BEST REVIEWED RESTAURANTS: A ROUND-UP OF GAMBA CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Gamba is one of the best reviewed restaurants in Scotland. Being at the forefront of seafood creative excellence for 25 years, we’d like to think we know a thing or two about what our customers want.

Here’s a round-up of some Gamba customer reviews from ResDiary - and heartfelt thanks to all that take the time to review us.

Your feedback means such a lot to our chef-patron Derek Marshall and team at Scotland’s go-to fish restaurant.

One customer, Thomas, perfectly summed up our customer service in his review:

“The staff were attentive but not obtrusive and polite.”

Gamba customer reviews

So let’s get to it with some more recent Gamba customer reviews.

Said Catherine, who visited us one Saturday evening recently:

“Outstanding!!! A small carefully thought out menu, a well chosen wine list, as for the fish… it’s cooked to absolute perfection. Not forgetting the staff who are on hand and very friendly. This is by far the best fish restaurant in Glasgow. We can’t wait to go back again.”

Jayne came along that very same evening.

“We don't live in Glasgow but Gamba is a must when we visit. Exquisite food, great service and consistently good value. Can't recommend enough.”

And it’s not just the food that our customers love.

Leanne’s Gamba review :

“Fantastic fresh seafood and great customer service. Our first visit and we will definitely be back! The jalapeño margarita cocktail was also a highlight ❤️”

Margaret, meanwhile, paid us a visit one Thursday evening and her review read:

“We enjoyed a wonderful, skilfully prepared pre-theatre dinner at Gamba. The service was delightful, attentive and friendly. We will definitely return soon to explore the mouthwatering menu further.”

Another of our customers, Robin, said:

“We dine at Gamba quite a bit, and there is a reason for that: another faultless meal; friendly, welcoming service; and ambience second to none. Just stellar.”

And it’s not just fish lovers that can’t praise us highly enough.

Gamba customer Clare left this review:

“Staff friendly and attentive. Food delish especially for my fish loving hubby however I’m not a fish lover yet, but still had choice and food was delightful!”

And the last word goes to Alison.

“Highlight of the week again. I come here a lot & get the feedback from a lot. I seem to use the word exquisite every time but that is the best way to explain this restaurant. Everything is exquisite. Great quality food, presented beautifully. It is food heaven. All the staff & chefs are amazing. Thank you all again. “

Good review for restaurant: Food trends come and go

Speaking to The Herald’s Best of Scotland magazine recently, Derek spoke among other things about what’s fuelled Gamba’s 25 successful years, and receiving a good review for our restaurant is a lovely thank you for all our hard work.

He said: “Food trends come and go but we’ve been consistent.”

“I’m quite classically trained, my kind of cooking has a bit of an old-fashioned feel to it, but we’ve got a real following for that. I think chefs panic and think they need to move with the trends instead of building something that really works.”

And when asked about sharing food, he said: “Personally I’m not into sharing food. I want to go out to a restaurant and have a three-course meal and leave feeling full up.”

Restaurant reviews Scotland: Gamba’s loyal customers

And our loyal customer reviews clearly demonstrate that Derek’s not alone here, as Gamba regulars continue voting with their feet.

“We have loyal customers who have been coming for 25 years and now we get their sons and daughters too. People see it as a special destination, and to me that’s great.

“I believe that fish should always be quite simple, it shouldn’t be over-elaborate.”

Our Fish Soup has been on the menu since day one, while our classic dishes like lemon sole meunière, and monkfish with king prawns with ginger and spring onions are dishes that have been on our menu for decades.
