A Taste of Asia Dinner

Gamba is renowned for creating exciting seafood dishes inspired by flavours of the Orient. It’s with this in mind that we decided our next tasting dinner should be a celebration of Asian influenced cuisine - perfectly accompanied by inspired drinks pairings.

The evening will begin with some delicious canapés and a vibrant yuzu & ginger margarita to get your tastebuds fired-up. Then it’s onto something really special; tartare of yellowfin tuna, sriracha, sesame, spring onion & wasabi ice-cream. The fresh flavour of the yellowfin tuna, enhanced by a delicate touch of sesame and warmth of sriracha with a wasabi bite in the cooling ice-cream. The tartare is expertly paired with Homer Riesling 2014 (Marlborough NZ) bringing fresh lime notes to a dish made for a citrus hit.

Next up is roast stone bass, beautifully textured with a perfectly crisp skin, touched with a spiced coconut cream adding a delicate richness to the dish. Served with poached tiger prawns, Asian greens and cumin fragrant rice; your palette will be in heaven. Gewurztraminer 2015, Cave de Cleebourg (Alsace, France) is your wine pairing for this course and with delicate spice, ripe lychee and lemongrass notes - it will simply amplify your senses with a burst of Asian flavours. 

The Gewurztraminer 2015, provides the perfect segue to our dessert course. Lychee & lemongrass cheesecake with mango sorbet - three familiar, aromatic, oriental flavours that are synonymous with Asian cuisine. As with all great celebrations, our Taste of Asia Dinner ends with a mouthwatering cocktail. You’ll sip on a classic Japanese Slipper with Midori, Cointreau and lemon juice providing a fruity finish to round off this exquisite meal.
